Fix NTFS partition

Mounting NTFS partition from macos and ubuntu I sometimes get:

‘$MFTMirr does not match $MFT (record 0)’

And here is how to fix it in Linux:

sudo apt-get install ntfsprogs
sudo ntfsfix /dev/sda6

CodeWarrior 10 Eclipse, USB P&E Multilink and Ubuntu 10.10

To properly flash using USB P&E Multilink I found:

/PATH/TO/CODEWARRIOR_MCU_10.0/Drivers/pemicro$ sudo sh setup.sh  (reinstall drivers)
/PATH/TO/CODEWARRIOR_MCU_10.0/eclipse sudo ./cwide  (execute CW10 with root privilages)

but setup.sh failed until I changed following files:

configure:    echo “#include <generated/autoconf.h>” >> hello.c
configure.usb:            echo “#include <generated/utsrelease.h>” > hello.c
configure.wd:            echo “#include <generated/utsrelease.h>” > hello.c

shell scripts in eclipse

In order to edit shell scripts within eclipse with syntax highlighting and so on you can install ShellEd. The great benefit of this plugin is the integration of man page information for content assist and text hover.

  1. Install support for manpages installing Linux Tools plugin from http://download.eclipse.org/technology/linuxtools/update
  2. Install ShellEd plugin from .zip file on http://sourceforge.net/projects/shelled/
  3. Enjoy!

    Fixing Nvidia flickering in Ubuntu

I suddenly got tired about Nvidia flickering, so I googled for a while and I found a workaround that disables PowerMizer. PowerMizer changes GPU clock speed on demand, causing a flicker every time it changes. The workaround consists on fixing the clock speed.

    Here is my /etc/modprobe.d/options

    options nvidia NVreg_RegistryDwords='PerfLevelSrc=0x2222'
    options nvidia NVreg_Mobile=1

Fixed on Vaio VGN-FE11S with Ubuntu 10.04 and NVidia driver 195.36.15

I hope some day Nvidia releases a fixed driver.
